Environmental policy
   

Tannery Midwest Environmental Policy and its environmental guidelines that govern our way of working in all  activities: 

"To ensure the quality of our leathers and resultant customer satisfaction through responsible and environmentally friendly processes that meet legal requirements, continuously seeking to improve the use of natural resources (mainly water use), thus promoting awareness and preservation the environment "

For control and monitoring of compliance with environmental policy objectives, were established and environmental indicators regarding the consumption of energy (electricity, fuel, ..), water , air emissions, solid waste and results / parameters of the final effluent.

 

Restricted Substances 

The Tannery Midwest, through periodic survey among its customers, has developed and maintains a List of Restricted Substances,  establishing maximum levels for: Chromium IV,  heavy metals,  Nonylphenols, pesticides,  Orthophenyl,  PCP, and other TCP & CPET. Regularly review our leathers laboratory selected and accredited internationally and thus attesting compliance with established levels of restricted substances.

As part of the procurement policy choosing suppliers and chemicals used by Tannery Midwest, takes into account the control of substances restricted by the requirement of declaration / vendor as the same exemption.

 

Traceability 

The Tannery Midwest has systematic traceability of their skins through a procedure that establishes all the necessary controls (marking leather with a leather specific code, documentation source, and monitoring the production records in the computerized system, identification / formation of pallets, .) that allow that you can trace the origin of each leather produced reaching the refrigerator supplier, day of slaughter cattle farms of origin.
